Job summary

GitLab, the intelligent DevSecOps platform, seeks a senior Customer Success leader to mentor and grow a global CS team, drive adoption, and manage renewals. You will partner with the CS Director to set goals, ensure high-quality customer outcomes, and build strategic relationships with executives across customers.

Ideal candidates bring proven software/tech CS leadership, SDLC/DevOps experience, and fluency in German.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in software/tech sales, consulting or customer success.
• Experience leading teams, driving software adoption, and scaling CS practices.
• Experience with SDLC processes and agile/DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of cloud/container tech (Kubernetes, Docker) and cloud models (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Ability to develop strategies, translate into initiatives, and deliver.
• Experience leading global, distributed teams across cultures and geographies.
• Strong management presence, leadership, communication, and feedback.
• Collaborate across org and with senior executives (VP/CxO).
• Strong operational, analytical thinking, and process improvement skills.
• Fluent German.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and enable the CSM team to exceed growth and retention forecasts.
• Partner with CS Director to set goals and responsibilities for CSMs.
• Lead a global team to manage onboarding, adoption, reviews, and renewals.
• Ensure CSMs exceed expectations in knowledge, communication, and execution.
• Develop senior-level relationships with customers and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product for aligned goals and initiatives.
• Oversee OKRs and execute strategies with leadership guidance.
• Represent GitLab leadership with a focus on company values.
