Job summary

Axon is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Connected Devices team. You will lead a high-impact group developing embedded software for body-worn and in-car devices, collaborating with product managers and designers to deliver mission-critical solutions.

Responsibilities include architectural oversight, code reviews, and growing talents while driving quality, security, and latency targets across hardware-enabled products.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years leading teams with empathy and mentorship.
• 10+ years embedded engineering experience with real-world products.
• Engineering processes focused on quality, security, maintainability, and operations.
• 5+ years professional software development in C/C++, Go, Rust, Python or similar.
• 5+ years writing unit, integration and/or system tests.
• Networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP) is a plus.
• CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, OO design, code quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a high performing team that designs and develops embedded applications and network configurations for Axon's products.
• Manage a team with empathy and provide clear career growth for engineers.
• Collaborate with global teams to drive timely feature launches across the product lifecycle.
• Instill continuous process improvement and metrics-driven culture.
• Set a high technical bar by leading architecture, design and code reviews.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Design, and Engineering to create integrated solutions.
