Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Software Engineer - TeraWave to develop embedded software for RF and optical systems in a high-performance, constrained environment. The role focuses on real-time software, encryption, and multi-threaded design within a team of engineers and technicians.

You will contribute to control/data plane architecture for a space-based networking constellation, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and performance, with some relocation assistance and possible

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• 1+ year embedded software development experience in C/C++ on Linux/RTOS/Bare-metal.
• Strong understanding of C++ OO design and debugging with SW/HW tools (GDB, JTAG).
• Familiarity with SPI, I3C, I2C, PCIe, CAN and standard interfaces.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop multi-threaded embedded software in C/C++.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to integrate with devices.
• Contribute to technical docs, code reviews, and design discussions.
• Troubleshoot using telemetry, logs, and instrumentation across the stack.
• Develop unit/integration tests and implement CI/CD automation.
