Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Software Engineer for the TeraWave RF/Optical Systems team. The role focuses on designing multi-threaded embedded software in C/C++ for constrained environments, integrating with hardware, and advancing real-time data handling and encryption.

The position involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, system architecture work, and robust testing within a fast-paced space tech environment. Onsite in Seattle Bay Area with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 1+ year of embedded software development in C/C++ on Linux/RTOS/Bare-metal.
• Strong understanding of C++ OO design and implementation.
• Experience debugging using gdb and JTAG.
• Knowledge of SPI, I3C, I2C, PCIe, CAN interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop multi-threaded embedded software in C/C++.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software with hardware systems.
• Contribute to technical documentation, code reviews, and design discussions.
• Troubleshoot problems and debug using telemetry, logs/traces, code instrumentation, and debugging tools.
• Develop unit and integration tests and automation; integrate with CI/CD pipelines.
• Learn fast from mentors and peers, delivering with speed and quality.
