Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems, Advanced Weapons Division in Northridge, CA, seeks an Embedded Software Engineer (Level 3/4) for the Stand-in Attack Weapon program. The role is 100% on-site and focuses on developing, integrating, and testing real-time embedded software on lab assets.

The ideal candidate will have strong RTOS experience (vxWorks), hands-on embedded software expertise, and a DoW Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline and a minimum of five (5) years of software engineering experience with embedded systems; a Master of Science with three (3) years will be considered.
• Experience in developing RTOS such as vxWorks.
• Experience in Embedded Software and ability to read code and verify against Software Requirements Specifications.
• Experience developing and troubleshooting embedded communication interfaces and protocols (UART, RS-232/422, CAN, ARINC 429) and integrating with hardware.

Responsibilities

• Implement software based on software-level requirements and defect reports.
• Collaborate with systems and software engineers to develop and maintain software architecture models.
• Develop, integrate, and test software on lab assets.
• Support verification and validation activities to ensure all integrated CSCIs function as intended.
• Participate in embedded software development activities including implementation, testing, integration, and verification.
• Develop software in RTOS environments such as vxWorks.
