Job summary

RTX in McKinney, TX is seeking a Software Engineer II – Embedded to join our development team onsite. The role focuses on delivering embedded software for military and commercial programs, from concept through integration and testing, with a requirement to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

The candidate will work closely with Systems Engineers, writing real-time software (C++, Python, Shell) and using Git/GitLab in a Linux/VxWorks environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in object-oriented programming and real-time software.
• Proficiency in C++ or similar languages; scripting (Shell/Python).
• Active and transferable DoD Secret security clearance required, U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Supports all aspects of a software development life cycle as part of a multi-disciplined team for military and commercial programs.
• Develops and integrates real-time software; crafts solutions to complex system issues.
• Works with Systems Engineers to design user-centered solutions.
• Occasional travel; on-site work in McKinney, TX; ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance.
