Job summary

RTX in McKinney, TX is seeking an Automation Systems Engineer II to design, implement, and sustain automation solutions and IIoT/Industry 4.0 technologies for manufacturing. The role involves integrating equipment with business systems, collaborating with customers, and guiding projects from conception through deployment.

Required are a STEM bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, plus active DoD Secret Clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics with 2+ years of related experience.
• Experience with SQL, Python, C#, Powershell or similar scripting.
• Data analysis experience.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance.
• Strong communication with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Experience deploying IIoT/ Industry 4.0 solutions.
• Ignition, Splunk or FactoryLogix development experience.
• Full life‑cycle deployment and integration of automation systems.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and electrical compliance.
• Experience with AutoCAD and control systems design.
• Manufacturing experience in Microelectronics or Circuit Card Assembly.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with program and factory customers to identify, develop, and define manufacturing automation and digital solutions.
• Support early New Product Introduction activities including Design for Manufacturing engagements.
• Continuous improvement, upgrades and sustainment of deployed automation systems and data workflows.
• Collaborate with the factory to identify, develop, and deploy process automation and digital solutions.
• Provide technical leadership from ideation through project execution and sustainment.
• Engage in full I4.0 project lifecycle from requirements to technical project management.
