Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Software Engineer II (Embedded) to develop software for unmanned and robotic systems deployed on aircraft and payloads.

You will design, code, test and debug embedded software and help ensure efficiency, stability and scalability across devices, including in flight-test environments. The role requires hands-on implementation, collaboration with other engineers, and adherence to AV's software processes.

Qualifications

• BS degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years of embedded/real-time software experience.
• Strong C++ and OO development skills.
• Experience in Linux application software development.
• Familiarity with IDEs and defect-tracking tools.
• Willingness to travel for testing

Responsibilities

• Writes and tests software to support integration of sensors and embedded processors into aircraft and robotic systems.
• Designs software for prototypes/products using AeroVironment tools and practices.
• Ensure configuration control and software management.
• Assist with requirements, test plans, diagnostics, and validation.
