Job summary

Raytheon’s Software Department in Fullerton, CA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and deploy software for real-time mission-critical systems. You will work onsite in Fullerton with an Agile team on distributed data processing and user interaction.

The role requires C/C++ and Python experience, a STEM degree, and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance. Travel to customer sites for testing is possible; a strong CI/CD culture is in place.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• Experience in C/C++ and Python for application development, data processing, and automation.
• Experience with design, code, integration, and test of large system.
• Experience with system or subsystem level Integration, Verification and Validation (IV&V).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Work within an Agile team to design, develop, test, and deploy software components supporting real-time data collection and user interaction across distributed systems.
• Participate in design and code reviews, configuration management activities, and automated testing within a mature CI/CD environment.
• Collaborate with systems, test, and data engineering teams to ensure software components integrate smoothly and support system objectives.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and contribute to formal design reviews.
