Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a software engineer to help develop embedded avionics platform software powering our space vehicles. You’ll design, implement, and integrate drivers, middleware, and applications across multiple hardware platforms, working closely with hardware and systems engineers.

You’ll contribute to architecture discussions, optimize performance, and ensure rigorous testing and documentation to enable safe, reliable spaceflight.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in embedded software development.
  • Expert level Proficiency in C/C++ programming.
  • Deep hands-on experience with real-time systems, multitasking, and synchronization in embedded environments.
  • Experience with software loaders, device drivers, middleware (I/O, BIT), hardware abstraction, and low-level interfaces.
  • Knowledge of multiple hardware architectures (ARM, x86) and RTOS/ QNX/ Yocto Linux embedded environments.
  • Experience with CI/CD environments and tools such as Gitlab, Jira, Confluence.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and collaborative teamwork experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and commitment to collaborative team culture.
