Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced software engineer to develop flight software for New Glenn avionics and spaceflight systems. You will work on both vehicle avionics and ground systems, contributing to safety-critical real-time embedded software across the development lifecycle.

The role requires strong programming in C/C++ and Python, plus hands-on embedded experience. Candidates should have OS and networking fundamentals and a passion for space exploration.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering or related subject area.
• 5+ years of experience writing software in C, C++, and Python.
• 2+ years of experience in embedded software, kernel development, BSPs or other systems software components.
• Solid understanding of operating systems and network protocols fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Develop flight software and tools for spaceflight systems.
• Work on vehicle avionics and ground systems; participate in requirements, design, implementation, integration and testing.
• Contribute to safety-critical real-time embedded software development.
