Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Software Engineer to develop embedded platform software for avionics systems. You will build drivers, middleware, and applications powering spaceflight tech, collaborating with hardware and systems engineers to meet requirements.

You will drive architecture discussions, optimize performance, and ensure quality through rigorous testing and documentation. This role offers mentorship through code reviews and contributes to a culture of safety and innovation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of embedded software development experience.
Expert level proficiency in C/C++ programming.
Hands-on with real-time systems, multitasking, and synchronization.
Experience with software loaders, device drivers, middleware (I/O, BIT), hardware abstraction, and low-level interfaces.
Knowledge of ARM and x86 architectures and RTOS/QNX/Yocto Linux embedded environments.
Experience with CI/CD environments and tools such as Gitlab, Jira, Confluence.

Responsibilities

Build cutting-edge platform software for embedded avionics systems, including drivers, middleware, and applications.
Partner with hardware and systems engineers to shape software requirements and integration.
Contribute to architecture and design discussions influencing embedded systems.
Drive performance optimization and scalable, portable software implementations.
Ensure high quality through testing, debugging, and performance analysis across hardware environments.
Document requirements, design specs, and API references for the team.
Mentor through code reviews and collaborative feedback.
