Job summary

Blue Origin Engines seeks an Aerospace Software Apps Engineer III to develop and verify real-time embedded software that controls rocket engines for human-capable spacecraft. You will work with multidisciplinary teams across the full software lifecycle, from requirements through testing and deployment.

The role emphasizes hands-on development, safety-critical design, and verification, with opportunities to influence system architectures and software quality in a fast-paced spaceflight

Qualifications

• BS degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, aerospace, or related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience developing and testing real-time embedded systems (bare metal, RTOS, or Linux kernel).
• Experience writing software requirements.
• Experience with C/C++ and Python.
• Experience with device drivers and SDLC.
• Strong debugging skills at software/hardware boundary.
• Experience with TCP/IP networking.
• Familiarity interfacing with sensors and actuators.
• Experience designing robust APIs and interfaces.
• Familiarity with Git, JIRA, Confluence.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the software lifecycle, from requirements to deployment.
• Create and document software architectures and designs; write planning specifications.
