Job summary

Top Echelon Software, LLC in North Syracuse, NY is seeking an Embedded Firmware Engineer to design, develop, and test embedded C firmware for MCU-based systems used in HVAC/R and industrial applications. You will collaborate with hardware and test engineers to deliver robust firmware for 8/16/32-bit MCUs, and contribute to product development from concept to production.

Qualifications

Hands-on experience writing embedded C firmware for microcontroller-based systems.
Strong understanding of microcontrollers, interrupts, timers, peripherals, and hardware interfaces.
Experience developing and debugging bare-metal embedded firmware.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Experience with HVAC/R controls, industrial electronics, or similar products is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, debug, and maintain embedded firmware using C programming.
Develop firmware for 8-, 16-, and 32-bit microcontrollers.
Create control logic for sensors, switches, relays, motors, and other electronic components.
Collaborate with hardware engineers on product development, integration, and troubleshooting.
Debug hardware and firmware using oscilloscopes, development tools, and laboratory equipment.
Participate in new product development, testing, and validation.
Troubleshoot existing products and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Document code, participate in design reviews, and support products through manufacturing.
