Job summary
RRC Solutions Group in North Syracuse, NY, is seeking an Embedded Firmware Engineer to join its engineering team onsite. You will write embedded C code for microcontroller-based systems used in HVAC/R and industrial applications, and contribute to product development from concept through production.
You will collaborate with hardware, mechanical, and test engineers, debug firmware with scopes and development tools, and support manufacturing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Hands-on embedded C firmware experience required for microcontroller-based systems.
- Experience with bare-metal development and hardware interfacing.
- Ability to troubleshoot firmware–hardware interactions and explain past projects.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, debug, and maintain embedded firmware using C.
- Develop firmware for 8/16/32-bit microcontrollers.
- Create control logic for sensors, relays, motors, and other components.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers on product development and troubleshooting.
- Debug hardware and firmware with oscilloscopes and lab equipment.
- Participate in new product development, testing, and validation.
- Troubleshoot existing products and support continuous improvement.
- Document code and participate in design reviews.
