Job summary

Everett Public Schools at Everett High School in Everett, MA is seeking a Counselor/ELL Support provider for its CTI Culinary Arts adult-training program. This role will provide translation and language-access support during onboarding and employment-transition activities, primarily on-site during the first week and final two weeks of each cohort.

The position is grant-funded, paid at $40 per hour for up to 74 hours, with total compensation not exceeding $2,960.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in counseling, education, social work, or related field preferred.
• Experience supporting English learners or multilingual adults.
• Ability to provide translation and language-access support.
• Experience with employment-readiness and job-placement support preferred.
• Knowledge of community resources and workforce services.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle confidential participant information.
• Ability to collaborate with instructors, staff, workforce partners, and employers.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site counseling, translation, and language support during the first week and final one to two weeks of each cohort.
• Assist multilingual learners in understanding program expectations, schedules, forms, instructional materials, and available resources.
• Support communication among participants, instructors, program staff, workforce partners, and employers.
• Help identify and address language-related barriers that may affect participant engagement, attendance, progress, or program completion.
• Connect participants with appropriate educational, employment, and community-based resources.
• Assist participants with resumes, job applications, interview preparation, and employment-readiness activities.
• Support participants in identifying and pursuing employment opportunities upon program completion.
• Coordinate with the Program Manager and workforce-development partners regarding participant referrals, interviews, job-placement opportunities, and employment outcomes.
• Assist with follow-up communication to document participant employment and other post-program outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of participant services and referrals.
• Participate in required program meetings, planning activities, and grant-related documentation.
• Complete other program-related responsibilities as assigned by the Program Manager or Director of Career and Technical Education.
