Job summary

TIC_Craft in Louisiana is seeking an experienced ironworker to lay out, install and connect structural steel per blueprints, codes and industry standards. You will read plans, fabricate and assemble components and coordinate hoisting with crane operators to position members safely.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred with related experience.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with supervision.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Reads blueprints to determine locations, quantities, or sizes of material required.
• Fabricates steel parts according to blueprints or supervisor instructions.
• Hoists steel beams and directs crane operators to position members.
• Verifies alignment using plumb bobs, lasers, transits or levels.
• Cuts, bends or welds steel pieces using torches, shears or welding equipment.
• Positions structural steel with turnbuckles, crowbars, jacks or hand tools.
• Bolts structural members for riveting, bolting or welding.
• Assembles hoisting equipment to move heavy components.
