Job summary

Vertiv ERS/HVM is seeking a Field Engineer – Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV. You will lead multi-discipline teams, mentor junior technicians, and ensure compliance with NETA, NFPA 70E, and OSHA standards.

The role offers base compensation up to $95/hour, aggressive OT, signing bonuses up to $10,000, and a path to leadership within the service organization.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification current and in good standing.
• Minimum 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Expert knowledge of NETA MTS and ATS standards.
• Proficiency with test equipment: Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF.
• Strong understanding of protective relay schemes and coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret one-line and three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Willingness to travel regionally up to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing up to 500kV.
• Conduct short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality studies.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical to microprocessor).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance tests.
• Analyze results and write engineering reports with findings.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical failures under time pressure.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians in the field.
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline projects.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS, NFPA 70E, OSHA.
