Job summary

Vertiv's ERS/HVM division is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to join a team dedicated to high-voltage power systems and critical infrastructure. You will lead acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing for equipment up to 500kV, and deliver clear engineering reports with recommendations.

You will travel regionally up to 75%, mentor junior technicians, and participate in multi-discipline projects while ensuring strict adherence to NETA MTS/ATS, NFPA 70E, and

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV Certification (current and in good standing).
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing experience in medium/high voltage environments.
• Expert knowledge of NETA MTS and ATS standards.
• Proficiency with test equipment: Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF.
• Strong understanding of protective relay schemes and coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel regionally (up to 75%).

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems and equipment up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field.
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements.
