Job summary

Vertiv's Electrical Reliability Services (ERS) and High Voltage Maintenance (HVM) are seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV). You will perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV, with up to 75% regional travel.

You will work with an elite team, troubleshoot complex systems, and mentor junior technicians while upholding industry standards and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification (current and in good standing).
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Expert knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards.
• Proficiency with test equipment: Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians; serve as technical lead on multi-discipline teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements.
