Job summary

Vertiv (ERS / HVM) seeks a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to perform acceptance, commissioning and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV. Travel up to 75% for regional and national projects is required, with compensation up to $95/hour and performance bonuses.

You will test relays, conduct power system studies, mentor technicians, and ensure compliance with NETA MTS/ATS, NFPA 70E and OSHA as you advance within Vertiv’s services organization.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III/IV certification current and in good standing.
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing experience in medium/high voltage environments.
• Proficiency with test equipment: Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems and equipment up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field.
