Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA Level III/IV) to perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on high voltage equipment. Travel will be regional and national, up to 75%, with a comprehensive compensation package and signing bonus opportunities.

You will work across test labs and on-site projects, leading testing activities, analyzing results, and mentoring junior technicians while ensuring compliance with NETA MTS/ATS, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety

Qualifications

• NETA Level III/IV certification (current in good standing).
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Strong knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians; serve as technical lead on multi-discipline projects.
