Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on high-voltage power systems. You will analyze test data, prepare reports, and mentor junior technicians while ensuring compliance with NFPA 70E and OSHA safety standards.

Travel up to 75% across regional/national projects; base compensation up to $95/hour with bonuses and benefits. A strong background in NETA standards and protective relays is required.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III/IV Certification and 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Strong knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards and protective relay schemes.
• Proficiency with test equipment and the ability to read one-line and three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Valid driver's license with clean record and willingness to travel up to 75%.
• Experience mentoring field technicians and leading multi-discipline teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems and equipment up to 500kV.
• Conduct short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analyses.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor-based).
• Interpret results and author engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians and serve as technical lead on projects.
