Job summary

Cass Human Service Zone in Fargo, North Dakota is seeking an Eligibility Support Specialist to assist the Economic Assistance team with administrative, programmatic, and client support across programs such as Health Care Coverage, SNAP, LIHEAP, Child Care, TANF, and General Assistance.

Position includes program training and requires strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills, with ability to handle high-volume inquiries and work with diverse populations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of the Eligibility Worker one-year certificate program.
• Completion of 90 semester hours or 135 quarter hours of a bachelor's degree program.
• Three years of work experience involving processing claims, loans, financial eligibility benefits, credit reviews, abstracts, taxes, or housing assistance, or working in the clerical, accounting, bookkeeping, legal, financial, business, teaching, investments/financial planning, computer/data processing fields.
• Three years of any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide support in a high-volume front-desk lobby environment by assisting clients and Team Members with inquiries and directing them to resources.
• Prepare documents for processing, application registration, and screening for expedite.
• Review, input, and retrieve data from various databases and computer systems.
• Maintain working knowledge of laws, rules, policies, procedures, and other regulations.
