Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Human Services Technology or related field.
• High school diploma with 2 years paraprofessional or public contact experience including data gathering and analysis.
• High school diploma with 3 years paraprofessional/public contact experience including interviewing and data analysis.
• One year experience as Income Maintenance Caseworker in NC County DSS, or hired at Level I.
• Must possess a valid North Carolina driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Interview clients to obtain information for applications and redeterminations.
• Verify information with clients and organizations as required.
• Evaluate eligibility according to policy.
• Enter information into computer and notify client of status.
• Engage in Medicaid and other assistance program eligibility activities including intake and case maintenance.
• Attend trainings and perform other duties as assigned.
• Participate in emergency preparedness activities as required.
• Work with supervisor and generate reports.
• Communicate effectively with diverse client populations.
