Job summary

Durham County Government is seeking an Income Maintenance Caseworker II - Medicaid to determine eligibility for Medicaid and other income maintenance programs through intake, processing and reviews.

The role involves interviewing clients, verifying information, completing applications, and performing recertifications. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential, with experience in Medicaid programs preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of income maintenance programs (Food Stamps, Medicaid, TANF) and related policies.
• Ability to read, interpret rules and procedures; strong mathematical reasoning.
• Interview clients to obtain required data and explain program options.

Responsibilities

• Interview clients to obtain data and determine initial/continued eligibility.
• Process applications and verify information for eligibility determinations.
• Complete recertifications and changes for Medicaid and related programs.
