Job summary

Knowledge Services is hiring an Eligibility Specialist in West Lafayette, Indiana. You will assist applicants for TANF, SNAP, and Medicaid, gathering data and verifying information to determine eligibility under state guidelines.

The role involves data entry, client communication, and use of state systems. A bachelor/associate degree in social services is preferred, with 2 years’ related experience. Competitive pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Associate degree in Counseling or Social Services preferred or related field.
• 2 years’ experience in a social service environment, state or local government desired.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Basic math skills needed for budgeting and eligibility calculations.

Responsibilities

• Gather data for all relevant assistance programs face-to-face or via phone with clients.
• Verify information meets state policies and valid releases/medical records.
• Verify income, assets, and other financial documents.
• Review regulations and program requirements with clients.
• Use automated system to determine eligibility for state programs.
• Data entry into state database.
• Respond to inquiries by phone or email in a timely manner.
