Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree.
• Qualifying full-time professional eligibility determination experience may substitute for education year-for-year.
• Two years of full-time para-professional experience as an Eligibility Assistant or State contractor may substitute for the required education.
• Applicants must complete a criminal history disclosure form and supply a fingerprint sample.

Responsibilities

• Lears to manage a workload of initial and on-going eligibility determinations for SNAP and TANF programs.
• Learns to provide case management for initial and ongoing eligibility and customer changes.
• Learns to calculate monthly income and expenses for budgeting.
• Documents information using a computerized case record or paper files.
• Ensures accurate receipt of entitled benefits by reviewing data from customers and systems while maintaining confidentiality.
• Assists customers with the application process and scheduling appointments.
• Reviews program policy and explains eligibility and ongoing responsibilities to customers.
• Identifies services and makes referrals to promote self-sufficiency.
