Job summary

Knowledge Services seeks an Eligibility Specialist to be based on-site in New Castle, IN. You will process applications, perform case maintenance, and resolve client service issues per FSSA policies, handling calls from Medicaid, SNAP, and TANF applicants and recipients.

Responsibilities include applying eligibility rules, verifying data across interfaces, and maintaining up-to-date program knowledge. The role starts at 18/hr with a 40-hour week, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, plus benefits

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
• Experience with social services; Indiana Eligibility strongly preferred.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Accurate data entry and typing at least 40 keystrokes/min.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Applies eligibility rules to determine initial or continuing eligibility.
• Verifies customer information across system interfaces.
• Answer incoming calls from customers.
• Attend trainings and stay updated on programs and systems.
• Contact customers to clarify eligibility information.
• Meet QA and other performance metrics.
• Prepare case information for State Eligibility Consultant.
• Reprocess applications and resolve missing information.
• Escalate risks to management and route technical issues.
