Board of Miami County Commissioners (Ohio) seeks an Eligibility Referral Specialist to interview public assistance clients and maintain communications regarding eligibility and employment needs. The role includes tracking clients in education or training and supporting job search/retention activities.

Additionally, the position handles overpayments, attends hearings, and coordinates with partner agencies to create work experience opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or 1-3 years at a JFS agency required.
• Preferred: Associate Degree.

Responsibilities

• Interview and maintain communication with public assistance clients who have previously been determined eligible for benefits.
• Track ongoing clients enrolled in education or training and assist in job search/retention activities.
• Process public assistance overpayments and under-issuances.
• Attend hearings, training, and meetings regarding public assistance or employment issues.
• Contact public and private agencies to establish potential work experience sites for participants.
• Perform miscellaneous tasks in the Eligibility/Referral unit.
