Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks an Eligibility Advisor I on a temporary basis in San Angelo, TX. The role supports the Access and Eligibility Services division to determine financial eligibility for SNAP, TANF, and Medicaid.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with 1 year of customer service experience. Telework possible; full-time schedule with day shift; background checks will be conducted.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours preferred.
• 1 year of customer service experience required or preferred.
• Experience interviewing clients and gathering personal information preferred.
• Must pass background checks and I-9 verification.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants to determine financial eligibility for public assistance programs.
• Enter data into a computer-based eligibility system.
• Compute and authorize benefits based on eligibility determinations.
• Process work in accordance with state and federal regulations and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
