Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking an Eligibility Advisor I for a temporary position in Beaumont, TX. You will assess applicants for SNAP, TANF, Medicaid, and other programs, interview clients, and enter data into a central system.

Expect to follow regulations, compute benefits, and work in a fast-paced team environment. The role requires a HS diploma or GED (60/90 hours preferred) and strong communication, data entry, and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Education as stated: HS diploma or GED; college hours preferred.
• Strong communication and data entry skills required.
• Experience with public assistance programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants to determine eligibility for public assistance.
• Enter data into eligibility systems and manage documentation.
• Compute and authorize benefits per regulations and procedures.
• Work overtime or weekends as needed; meet deadlines.
• Use MS Word/Outlook/Excel and collaborate via Teams.
