Job summary

Fortis Native Group is seeking a skilled Elevator Mechanic for our Miami contract. The role involves maintaining automated people movers, elevators, escalators and related devices while ensuring code compliance and safety standards.

Travel between sites is required, with after-hours callouts possible. The candidate should have Florida CET and Florida Certificate of Competency, 4+ years’ experience, and proficiency with MS Office; OSHA 10/30 and a valid license are expected.

Qualifications

• Florida CET and Florida Certificate of Competency required.
• 4+ years elevator maintenance and repair experience.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and emergency response.
• Must pass background screening and possess a valid driver's license.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Willingness to travel between sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues in brakes, motors, switches, signal and control systems.
• Use test equipment, disassemble units, repair or replace parts and inspect safety devices.
• Install and maintain push button control systems to modernize automated systems.
• Maintain elevator cab and comply with code requirements; assist at assigned/non-assigned sites.

Fortis Native Group is looking for a Full-Time Elevator Mechanic for our Miami 7 contract; candidate must be willing to travel between assigned sites and may be asked to assist at non-assigned sites The Elevator Mechanic repairs and maintains "Automated People Movers" and like named devices used in the transportation of people and materials including, but not limited to elevators, escalators, dumbwaiters, and moving walkways to meet safety regulations and building codes as associated with the Portsmouth facilities. This individual must foster teamwork, cooperation, and results while monitoring efficiency, productivity and be fiscally responsible.

Qualifications:

Minimum

• Florida Certified Elevator Technician (CET)
• Florida Certificate of Competency
• 4+ years elevator maintenance and repair experience
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and emergency response
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to pass federal background screening and site access requirements
• Proficiency with MS Office computer programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to work in machine rooms, shafts, pits, confined spaces, and elevated locations.
• Availability for emergency and after-hours callouts as required.
