Job summary

Fortis Native Group is seeking a full-time Elevator Mechanic to join our Miami operations. The role involves maintaining and repairing automated people movers, elevators, escalators, and related equipment at the Miami 7 contract, with travel to additional sites as required.

Candidates must hold Florida CET and Florida Certificate of Competency, have 4+ years in elevator maintenance, and pass background screening. OSHA 10/30 and a valid driver’s license are preferred.

Qualifications

• Florida CET and Florida Certificate of Competency required.
• 4+ years of elevator maintenance/repair experience.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency response.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass background screening.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair brakes, motors, switches, signals, and control systems.
• Use computers, test lamps, voltmeters, ammeters, and oscilloscopes.
• Install push button control systems and modernize automated people mover systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and maintain elevators per code.
• Travel between assigned sites and assist at non-assigned sites as needed.

Fortis Native Group is looking for a Full-Time Elevator Mechanic for our Miami 7 contract; candidate must be willing to travel between assigned sites and may be asked to assist at non-assigned sites The Elevator Mechanic repairs and maintains "Automated People Movers" and like named devices used in the transportation of people and materials including, but not limited to elevators, escalators, dumbwaiters, and moving walkways to meet safety regulations and building codes as associated with the Portsmouth facilities. This individual must foster teamwork, cooperation, and results while monitoring efficiency, productivity and be fiscally responsible.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Florida Certified Elevator Technician (CET)
• Florida Certificate of Competency
• 4+ years elevator maintenance and repair experience
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and emergency response
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to pass federal background screening and site access requirements
• Proficiency with MS Office computer programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to work in machine rooms, shafts, pits, confined spaces, and elevated locations.
