Job summary

Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools in Minnesota is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with diverse needs at Five Hawks Elementary. You will assist teachers with instructional activities, monitor student behavior, and help implement IEP accommodations while ensuring a safe, inclusive classroom.

This non-exempt, hourly position requires a high school diploma or GED, and you may need to complete the ParaEducator exam.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Associate's Degree or higher preferred or 60 college credits.
Must pass ParaEducator exam within 30 days of hire if not meeting other criteria.
Highly Qualified status through ParaEducator or ParaPro exam.

Responsibilities

Support and monitor students in classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms, and transitions to ensure a safe, inclusive learning environment.
Conduct objective observations, maintain accurate student data logs, and prepare or organize instructional materials.
Assist in implementing student programs and IEP accommodations as directed by special education staff.
Assist with personal care needs of individual students.
Maintain confidentiality of student records and FERPA compliance.
Communicate effectively with supervising teachers, special education staff, and administrators regarding student progress.
