Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED
• Associate degree or higher or 60 college credits; ParaEducator exam or ParaPro exam required
• Must pass ParaEducator exam within 30 days if criteria not met

Responsibilities

• Support and monitor students in classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms, and transitions.
• Conduct observations and maintain accurate student data logs.
• Prepare or organize instructional materials for teaching staff.
• Assist with implementation of IEP accommodations or behavior plans.
• Assist with personal care needs while maintaining dignity and safety.
• Maintain confidentiality per FERPA and district policies.
• Use approved intervention strategies to promote positive behavior.
• Communicate progress or concerns with supervising staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned by building principal or supervising teacher.
