Job summary

Ombudsman Educational Services seeks a Special Education Teacher for our Elementary programs within an Alternative Education environment. You will lead instructional planning, deliver targeted instruction, integrate educational software, and design personalized lessons aligned to state standards, while supporting diverse student needs and growth.

The role emphasizes collaboration with families, teachers, and administrators, with PBIS-driven behavior support and a focus on at-risk students

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a closely related field.
• Licensed or in process of obtaining IL PEL.
• Licensed or in process of obtaining IL SSE or LBS1 credential.
• Ability to obtain crisis management training certification.

Responsibilities

• Create inclusive, collaborative classroom environments with students, parents, and staff.
• Establish PBIS-based expectations and consequences across the class.
• Deliver differentiated instruction to meet IEP goals in co-teaching settings.
• Develop, update, and implement IEPs, goals, and interventions.
• Prepare detailed daily lesson plans aligned to standards and objectives.
• Maintain organized, safe classroom and manage instructional resources.
