ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support elementary students in an alternative education setting. You will design dynamic, personalized learning experiences using IEPs, integrate technology, and create comprehensive lesson plans aligned to state standards.

The role emphasizes collaboration, differentiated instruction, PBIS implementation, and ongoing professional growth to empower at-risk students and foster positive outcomes

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in education or closely related field.
• Licensed IL professional educator credential in process or active.
• Licensed IL LBS1 credential in process or active.
• Ability to obtain crisis management training certification.
• Experience with curriculum development and differentiation for alternative/special education settings.
• Experience with IEP services and compliance for diverse learners.
• Experience with students with IEPs and diverse needs.
• Strong motivation and goal-oriented communication.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to respond calmly in emergencies and make independent decisions.

Responsabilités

• Create an inclusive environment involving students, parents, colleagues and administrators.
• Establish a respectful classroom climate emphasizing social development and PBIS.
• Implement PBIS strategies, classroom expectations, and reward systems.
• Track progress, maintain student files, and generate reports on achievements.
• Deliver differentiated instruction to meet IEP goals, in or out of co-teaching settings.
• Differentiate curricular content to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Use varied instructional methods and software to engage diverse learners.
• Manage student caseloads with IEP goals and interventions.
• Prepare detailed daily lesson plans aligned to standards and objectives.
• Maintain organized, safe classroom environment and resources according to procedures.
• Stay informed on research-based instructional practices and trends.
