Job summary

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education in Loves Park, IL seeks a Special Education Teacher to lead instructional planning for elementary students with IEPs in an alternative education setting. The role emphasizes differentiated instruction, PBIS, and collaboration with families and staff to support student growth.

You’ll design engaging lessons, utilize educational software, track progress, and contribute to a supportive learning environment across learning centers and classrooms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in education or related field.
• Licensed IL professional educator (PEL) credential or in process.
• Licensed IL learning behavior specialist (LBS1) credential or in process.
• Experience with curriculum development, differentiation, and IEPs.
• Knowledge of PBIS and crisis intervention.

Responsibilities

• Lead instructional planning for elementary students with IEPs.
• Deliver differentiated instruction to meet IEP goals.
• Design engaging lessons and integrate educational software.
• Track student progress and maintain records.
• Collaborate with families, teachers, and administrators.
• Develop and implement IEPs and related interventions.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment with PBIS.
• Adapt curricula to diverse learning needs and abilities.
