Job summary
ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for our Alternative Education program in Illinois. You will design personalized learning experiences for elementary students with IEPs, deliver targeted instruction, and collaborate with staff to support student growth.
Responsibilities include implementing PBIS, maintaining records, and creating detailed lesson plans while aligning with state standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in education or related field.
- IL professional educator credential (PEL) in progress or current.
- IL Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) credential in progress or current.
- Experience with IEPs and special education services.
Responsibilities
- Create inclusive, collaborative classroom environment involving students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
- Implement PBIS strategies, classroom expectations, reward systems, and consequences.
- Track student progress, maintain files, and generate progress reports.
- Deliver differentiated instruction in a co-teaching setting to meet IEP goals.
- Adapt curricula and provide guidance on differentiation methods.
- Utilize technology and instructional software to support diverse learners.
- Manage caseloads and develop individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Prepare detailed daily lesson plans aligned to standards.
