Job summary

Hearthwood Elementary School in Vancouver, WA seeks a Special Education Paraeducator to support students with IEP goals under the supervision of the Special Education Instructor and Building Principal. The role involves one-to-one and small-group instruction, behavior support, data collection, and collaboration with teachers.

Working hours are 6.33 hours daily, 190 days per year, with early-release and full-Wednesday schedules.

Qualifications

• Basic typing/keyboarding.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and parents.
• Ability to work with and supervise students; maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide special education services and supports to students eligible for special education.
• Provide one-to-one and group instruction as directed by the teacher.
• Assist in establishing and maintaining a learning environment aligned to goals.
• Assess student progress and collect data toward IEP goals.
• Maintain accurate data on student progress.
• Assist in administering and scoring tests.
• Implement behavioral management strategies as outlined by the teacher.
• Prepare instructional materials and equipment.
