Job summary
ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education in Batavia, IL seeks a Special Education Teacher to lead instructional planning for elementary students with IEPs. You will design engaging, customized lessons, integrate educational software, and develop schedules tailored to diverse needs in a learning center or classroom.
The role requires collaboration with families and staff, PBIS-based classroom management, and ongoing professional growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in education, special education or closely related field.
- Licensed currently or in process of obtaining IL PEL credential.
- Licensed currently or in process of obtaining IL LBS1 credential.
- Ability to obtain and maintain crisis management training.
- Experience with curriculum development, differentiation and instruction, preferably in alternative/special education.
Responsibilities
- Lead instructional process for Elementary School students with IEPs.
- Deliver targeted instruction using innovative curricula and educational software.
- Create comprehensive lesson plans aligned to standards.
- Maintain organized student records and progress reports.
- Provide differentiated instruction in co-teaching settings.
- Adapt curricula to diverse learning needs and coach staff on differentiation methods.
- Manage caseloads, goals, and interventions for IEPs.
- Ensure safe, organized classroom environment and effective materials management.
