Job summary

Abby Kelley Foster Charter Public School in Worcester, MA is hiring a Massachusetts-licensed Special Education Teacher for an Elementary School Learning Center. You will provide individualized and small-group instruction to students with severe disabilities, developing and implementing IEPs and coordinating with families and staff to support student progress.

The role emphasizes inclusion, professional collaboration, and adherence to DESE guidelines.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts-DESE licensed Special Education Teacher preferred or MTEL requirements.
• SEI Endorsement is required.
• Background check and fingerprinting as per state regulations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with parents, teachers and district staff.

Responsibilities

• Attend and participate in IEP meetings.
• Develop and implement IEPs for students with disabilities.
• Provide specialized instruction, accommodations, and modifications in various settings.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to align instructional strategies with IEP goals.
• Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet goals.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress toward IEP goals.
• Communicate with parents/guardians and school team regarding student needs.
• Support a positive, inclusive learning environment and protect confidentiality.
