Job summary

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education is seeking a Special Education Teacher for an Elementary School learning center. The role involves leading instruction for students with IEPs, delivering differentiated lessons, and coordinating with staff to meet individual educational goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in education, special education or a closely related field of study.
• Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining an IL professional educator (PEL) credential.
• Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining an IL state special education (SSE) or learning behavior specialist (LBS1) credential.
• Ability to obtain and maintain crisis management training certification.
• Experience with curriculum development, differentiation and instruction; preferably in alternative/special education.

Responsibilities

• Lead instructional process for Elementary School students with IEPs, designing personalized learning experiences.
• Deliver targeted instruction, integrate educational software, and create detailed lesson plans aligned to standards.
• Implement PBIS strategies and track student progress with reports detailing achievements.
