Job summary
Ombudsman Educational Services is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our Alternative Education team. The role involves leading instruction for Elementary School students with IEPs, designing engaging lessons, and delivering targeted, collaborative instruction in a learning center or classroom.
You will implement PBIS, track progress, maintain records, and work with families and staff to support student growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a closely related field.
- Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining an IL professional educator (PEL) credential.
- Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining an IL state SSE or LBS1 credential.
- Ability to obtain and maintain crisis management training.
- Experience with curriculum development, differentiation and instruction; preferably in an alternative, special education and/or behavioral health program setting.
- Experience with IEPs and special education services and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Lead instructional process for Elementary School students with IEPs.
- Deliver differentiated instruction in a co-teaching setting.
- Develop comprehensive lesson plans aligned to standards.
- Track student progress and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with parents, colleagues and administrators.
