Job summary

Lake County Schools Consortium is seeking a paraprofessional to assist in daily instructional programs for special education students in grades K–8 with mild to moderate disabilities. Under the teacher's supervision, you will support classroom integration and help implement IEP goals.

Responsibilities include preparing materials, guiding small groups, assisting with behavior management, participating in team meetings, and collaborating with staff to improve services for students.

Qualifications

• State paraprofessional approval is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in preparation of materials
• Guide individual and small group instruction under direct supervision
• Assist in behavior management under the teacher's direction
• Participate in team planning meetings and parent conferences
• Engage in professional development as requested by administration
• Collaborate with staff to improve services for students
• Maintain classroom order and safety
• Communicate student needs and performance to staff
• Support implementation of academic, behavioral and communication plans
• Maintain confidentiality of student information
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
• Supervise students during drills, assemblies, play periods, and field trips
