Job summary

Lake Superior Academy is seeking a dedicated Elementary Paraprofessional to support teachers and help create a positive, productive learning environment for students in grades K-5.

The role involves one-on-one and small group instruction, assisting with instructional materials, supporting students with special needs under teacher direction, and helping maintain safety, behavior, and progress documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; further education preferred.
• Experience working with children in an educational setting is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with preparation and implementation of instructional materials, resources, and classroom activities.
• Provide instructional assistance under the supervision of the classroom Teacher.
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students in various subjects.
• Support students with special needs and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) under the direction of the classroom Teacher.
• Help with classroom management and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers and other educational staff.
• Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and parents regarding student progress and needs.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and other sensitive information.
• Assist in the preparation and delivery of instructional plans.
