Lake County School District R-1 is seeking an experienced Special Education Instructional Paraprofessional to support students with a range of needs. You will work one-on-one or in small groups under the direction of the Special Education Teacher and case manager, delivering accommodations per IEP and reinforcing classroom lessons.

This 179-day, full-time role includes collaboration with teachers and staff, ongoing documentation, and adherence to LCSD policies.

Qualifications

• Must hold a high school diploma or GED.
• Must pass all required background checks and fingerprinting.
• Familiarity with students with disabilities preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certifications within six months after hire.
• Must obtain a physical and TB test within 30 days after hire.

Responsabilités

• Work one-on-one or in small groups with students with special needs in education settings.
• Implement teacher-created lessons in line with IEP goals.
• Reinforce skills taught by the teacher across settings.
• Prepare materials for daily activities and monitor progress toward goals.
• Document student performance and communicate with supervisors.
• Support students on IEPs with accommodations during assessments.
• Maintain classroom environment and support staff with behavior management.
• Demonstrate positive, consistent, respectful interactions with students.
