Lake County School District Region 1 LCES - Leadville, Colorado is seeking a Special Education Instructional Paraprofessional for the 2026-2027 school year. Starting August 3, 2026, the position supports students with disabilities in K-5 under the supervision of a special education teacher.

The role includes implementing accommodations, supporting IEP goals, and promoting a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Competenze

• Applicants must hold a high school diploma or GED.
• Familiarity with students with disabilities preferred.
• Comfort with medical issues and interventions—ability to remain calm under pressure.

Mansioni

• Work one-on-one or in small groups with students with disabilities.
• Plan and deliver lessons under the direction of the special education teacher.
• Maximize instructional time and minimize interruptions for learning.
• Arrange and secure materials for activities.
• Observe and document student performance as requested.
• Monitor progress toward goals according to IEP direction.
• Provide accommodations during assessments when applicable.
• Reinforce subjects/behaviors across settings.
• Assist teachers in maintaining the classroom environment.
• Model school-wide and classroom expectations and rules.
• Support students in crisis using de-escalation strategies.
• Adhere to LCSD policies and confidentiality.
