Job summary

Federal Way Public Schools seeks an Elementary Paraeducator to supervise scholars and support basic skills development under a supervising teacher. The role includes monitoring during breakfast/lunch, playground, and crosswalk, with duties to assist with instructional programs and behavior support.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent and some college credits or an approved paraeducator assessment. This is a school year assignment with on-site duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• AA degree or 48 college credits or 72 quarter credits or pass paraeducator assessment.
• Must meet district paraeducator requirements and training.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor students during the day including playground, crosswalk, breakfast and lunch areas.
• Assist with basic skills development and support students with identified disabilities.
• Tutor individuals or groups as directed by the teacher.
• Follow safety procedures and report hazards to the main office.
• Support with classroom routines, behavior management and data recording.
